With tablet computers and notebooks being all the craze, google have decided we need yet more devices. These ones come in the form of laptops. I have to say, they are very slim, stylish looking things. They’re being made by Samsung and Acer, for the time being at least.
Prices will range between $349 and $499, being released in the US and six European countries initially. Expensive you might think? What’s even in it? Well it brings to us a 12.1 inch screen, a battery that can give us 8.5 hours with “active use” and insides that compete with other notebooks on the market! The higher priced model comes with 3G built in which they say will give you 100mb of date a month for a year as part of the package.
Do not fear students! Google will be offering a pay monthly deal so those of us who don’t have a spare $500 can join in the fun.
As for the actual operating system, google have gone for a different approach to software. The idea is that you will not get a massive 250GB hard drive, but instead a smaller 16GB faster flash memory, where you will access online equivalents to software like the now well know GoogleDocs.
